Cloister Inn расположен в сердцы Старого Города Праги, в трех минутах ходьбы от Карлова моста, на Konviktska, улице, которая соединяет здание при Betlem Squarе с церковью Святого Распятия, которая является 11-го века римской ротонды.
The hotel's name originates from the history of the building as it lies on the premises of a medieval convent. The Cloister Inn is the perfect choice, presenting you with the utmost advantages: a quiet location in Prague's oldest quarter, reliable services, and attractive rates.
The Cloister Inn offers 74 single, double or twin and triple bed rooms with ensuite bathrooms with showers, TV sets with satellite reception, air-condition, free wireless internet, complimentary minibars upon arrival, direct dial phones and electronic safety boxes. We also offer rooms with access for disabled persons and executive rooms on the top floor with direct fax and internet access. Baby cot on request - free of charge.
We offer unlimited buffet style breakfast in The Chapel with a wide selection of hot and cold meals, boiled eggs, oven-fresh Czech pastry from a small, family owned bakery, delicious local ham, salami and frankfurters delivered directly from the country, daily fresh fruits and vegetables and nice coffee and tea.
The building of the hotel is part of the area of the convent, initially belonging to the Jesuit Order; then, from 1772, to the Order of the Grey Sisters of St. Francis. The congregation of the Grey Sisters occupied the premises of the convent up to 1949, when unlawfully forced out by the communist regime. The convent, along with the church of St. Bartholomew, was utilized by the Internal Affairs Department for the purposes of interrogation, torture and imprisonment, as well as serving as offices for the secret police. The House of Prayer changed into a house of horror.
As a result of the events launched on November 17, 1989, which overthrew the period of communist rule, the estate of the Grey Sisters was finally returned to the Order in 1990 after a gap of 40 years. In the course of 1991-1994, general reconstruction works were launched with the support of the company of Unitas. Two buildings belonging to the complex were transformed into hotels - the Cloister Inn on one side and the Unitas Hotel which is situated next to the church of St. Bartholomew. In the basement of Unitas Hotel there are still cells where the Czech president Vaclav Havel was once imprisoned in the so-called "Pink Prison".
