You will find romantic Hotel Stekl 11km from Ceske Budejovice in Hluboka nad Vltavou,
in the beautiful, historically-rich South Bohemia. The location and history of the hotel is closely linked to 100 metres distant Hluboka Castle, which, together with the landscape park, due to its size and significant artistical and historical value is among the most important Romanticist chateau complexes in central Europe. This imposing and magnificently-furnished neo-Gothic Windsor-style castle is surrounded
by a large castle garden with an English-style park, perfect for a romantic stroll.The building of the hotel was built in a similar style to the castle during the end phase of castle reconstruction from 1841 to 1871. At that time, the original building, Stöckl, located next to the kennels and horse stables, became the administrative building for Hluboka castle. It was used as a residence until 1989. |

| Oor Wellness can offer guests a newly reconstructed indoor pool with counter current, whirlpool, Finnish sauna, fitness room, solarium, and the opportunity to have a classic or Thai massage. Tawan traditional Thai massage is offered to guests of Wellness Štekl Centre by certified and trained Thai massage therapists. The basic principal of Thai massage is to activate acupressure points in muscles and connecting tissues, resulting in an increased feeling of well-being and regeneration. |

| Near the castle, in what used to be the riding hall, you will find the Ales South Bohemian Gallery. Displaying unique medieval Bohemian art, including a Gothic Madonna collection, as well as a selection of 20th century artwork, the gallery also hosts classical music concerts. Near the Ales South Bohemian Gallery is the castle hunting lodge “Ohrada” – which houses the oldest hunting museum in the world. The South Bohemian Zoo and Vondrov riding and sports centre are nearby, offering newly reconstructed riding halls, and quality service. In Hluboké nad Vltavou, an outdoor water park in the direction of na Podskalí beckons with two outdoor pools, counter current, water slides and whirlpools. A natural swimming area can be found at the Bezdrev Pond, one of the many fish ponds in the area. The area around Hluboka offers a wide variety of sporting opportunities such as 18-hole PAR 71 golf course and a 9-hole public course, tennis, baseball, football (soccer), minigolf, paintball, and volleyball. Aside from this, we can also offer you an hour-long steamboat trip, (docking at Zámostí bridge), a sightseeing flight from the airfield Hosín (4 km from town), sport fishing, and bounty hunting. The softly rolling countryside is ideal for cyclists, who will appreciate our well-marked cycling trails. |
