The Golden Star House**** hotel is located just below Prague Castle, on the beginning of the street Nerudova on the "Royal Route", which leads through the historical centre of Prague, taking in The Lesser Town (Mala Strana), Charles Bridge and the Old Town. Thanks to its location facing the street Nerudova it offers unique panoramatic view of the picturesque Lesser Town houses and roofs.

The first written notes of the House date back to 1372 when it was owned by the Mayor of Hradcany. During the next centuries the House changed its owners several times. Among then we can find Czech kings´servants, members of different religious orders and many important Prague burghers. In 1723-32, when owned by the official of Czech Royal Chamber Baltazar Knapp, the House saw a thorough and expensive reconstruction that put it in the today´s shape. The recently finished recontruction preserved the original architectural elements and completed them carefully with luxury facilities of modern way of life. Just next to the elevator you can find a 270 year old staircase, you can see the original ornamental plastering of the ceiling, but also the most modern bathroom. The period wooden furniture is in perfect accordance with the historical atmosphere of the House, but at the same time it is treated with the latest wax technique, without ecologically detrimental varnish.

We offer comfortable accommodation in double rooms, twin rooms and two suites. All bedrooms have been beautifully refurbished to the highest world class standards, providing a graceful, yet homely ambience for you to relax. Subtle and interesting colour combinations, quality fabrics and fine furniture enhance the character of the rooms. Original period furniture is specially selected for each room. Parquet floors are treated with an ecologically safe lacquer.

Amenities of rooms: bathtub or shower, bidet, hair dryer, minibar, refrigerator, safe, TV set with satellite reception including CNN, phone. Baby cot available on request. Washing, cleaning, ironing. The suites have one bedroom and one living room, which can also serve as bedroom for additional persons, and two bathrooms.

The buffet breakfast is served in our breakfast room.

When it's time to have dinner, our restaurant sets exemplary standards of excellent cuisine and service. A wide range of tempting dishes is prepared by our superior chefs in the tradition of the finest Czech or international cuisine and it is to ensure that you will enjoy the very best in taste and quality. Our restaurant is open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Seating is available for 70 guests. We offer Czech, International and Vegetarian cuisine. We can provide an unforgettable setting for your wedding banquet or graduation celebration.

Services provided by our Reception Desk : Tickets: we will arrange and deliver tickets for your favourite concerts, operas or theatre performances. Tours: through us you can book guided tours of Prague historical monuments and the Jewish Town, a boat cruise on the river, or a trip to one of many Czech castles or famous spa resorts. Transfers: we will transport you to and from the airport or the train station, or anywhere in Prague at very favourable rates. Rent-a-Car: we can provide a car from major Rent-a-Car companies. Guarded Parking: we will park your car in an indoor guarded garage and make it ready for you any time you wish (price: 550,-CZK /day). Fax, Xerox, Scanner, Internet access available 24hours /day. We offer a pick-up service for the transfer to the hotel. Please be sure to inform us in good time of your arrival time.
