The Design boutique hotel Domus Balthasar is ideally located in the centre of the historical part of the city on the "Royal Route", just few steps (80 metres) from the Mostecka tower - the beginning of the Charles Bridge. Nearly all of most popular sights are within easy reach on foot or by tram - the stop Malostranske Square is located 150 metres from hotel. The building's history goes back to the 14th century, though the fittings are either modern or timeless. We do our best to respect history while at the same time respecting the current needs and tastes of our guests. Our interiors are made warm by wooden, atypical furniture with clean lines in dark colours which combines well with the light, creamy tones of the carpets, curtains and other decorations.

All our rooms, with the exception of two attic rooms, have large wardrobes and spacious bathrooms with plenty of room for storing things. Other equipment include a multipurpose writing desk, personal electronic safe, mini bar and radio. Double Standard attic rooms have air-conditioning free of charge, in all other rooms there is a ventilator. Luxury bathrooms are equipped with bathtub and shower, underfloor heating, hairdryer, bathrobes and WC.

We expect that guests will spend some time in their room and - alongside four or even seven large windows - will be able to enjoy a home-cinema system, a DVD player and satellite channels. Two suites have a kitchen, the other at least facilities for making tea and coffee and minibar.

To further ensure guests' comfort during longer stay, every room has two parallel connected telephones, one of which has a digital answering machine and second is on the night table. Guests get a phone number which allows people to call them without going through reception. Our hotel offers ADSL high speed internet connection - all rooms have free access to the hotel's own network and the internet, either at a desk or from the bed, if guests wish to work there. Free internet is also available on a computer in the lobby.

We believe that few of our guests will resist the smell of fresh bread from the Balthasar breakfast bar on the ground floor. Breakfast in this elegant and tranquil setting consists of a selection of breads, cereals, fruits, yoghurts, salamis, cheeses, smoked meats and various hot-plates such as scambled eggs with smoked salmon, steak and eggs and full-english. In the evening the Balthasar bar opens the public entrance from the side-street next to the hotel, and swings into action as Balthasar Wine Bar, offering Czech and Moravian wines as well as wines from around the world.
